Brisbane Celtic Festival is a lively celebration of Celtic culture, bringing together the best of music, dance, and tradition at Moorlands Park, Auchenflower on Sunday, October 12.
The day's program will include a captivating performance of Scottish country dancing; live Irish music and highland dancing; and Kids Celtic Games, where young ones can enjoy a variety of fun games including a kids cabre toss.
Throuhgout the day, light refreshments will be available from on site food vans on site, along with a variety of vendor tents. Attendess can also BYO picnic to enjoy in the park.
Attendees are encouraged to wear tartan, kilts and Celtic attire to add a touch of authenticity and flair to the festivities!
Good to know - The name "Auchenflower" is derived from the Scottish Gaelic words "achadh" (meaning field) and "flùr" (meaning flower), which together can be translated as "field of flowers." The area was named by Thomas McIlwraith, a former premier of Queensland that was born in Scotland.
Need to know - Nearby parking is very limited and public transport is recommended. Bus rioutes 444 and 445 stop near the Wesley Hospital and the Regatta Hotel CityCat terminal is a 10 ininute walk,
