Camerata: Your Eternal Memories

Stories shape us. Music moves us. Together, they create something unforgettable - and that is exactly what Camerata has captured in Your Eternal Memories, performing at Redland Performing Arts Centre on Thursday, October 9.

Inspired by John Tavener’s Eternal Memory for cello and strings, Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra invited audiences to share their most treasured memories and the music tied to them. The result is a rich tapestry of melodies woven from personal stories.

Mozart sits alongside John Tavener, Handel with Anna Clyne, and there are moments from Dvořák and Corelli too — a program blending classical masterpieces with contemporary voices, taking audiences on a journey that is both deeply personal and universal.

Narration by distinguished Australian actor Barbara Lowing takes the connection between music and memory even further, intertwining these stories with the music.

From moments of joy and tenderness to nostalgia and laughter, this special night celebrates the profound connection between memory and music.
