Customers can take a seat on the pavement, where pups are welcome, or in one of the cosy character-filled rooms inside.

The concise menu is understatedly first class, using carefully sourced local produce from the likes of Falls Farm, Rocky Point Aquaculture, Brisbane Valley Quail, Picone Exotics, Margra Lamb and West End institution Mick's Nuts.

Gum Bistro West End

Start with Apellation oysters & meyer lemon; duck liver parfait with native tamarind jelly; Fried Falls Farm eggplant with tomato, shallots & herbs; or the must-try pipis, oyster mushroom, young ginger & basil (with Riser bread and house made-butter to mop up).

Also recommended is the sweetcorn agnolotti with parmigiana cream, while larger plates include Autumn vegetable pot pie, caramelised onion & gruyere; Magra lamb rumb with sweetbread, beans & radichio; or quail, king & oyster mushrooms.
