Wholly Crumpets

Wholly Crumpets is a little slice of heaven in Bulimba - a crumpet cafe serving traditional and vegan hot cakes along with specialty coffee.  

Perched on Oxford Street, across from Bulimba Memorial Park, customers can grab and go or dine on-site with tables and chairs provided, where pooches are also welcome.

Sweet temptations include toasted crumpets topped with nutella, strawberries and toasted coconut; banana with honeycomb butter and bee pollen; or housemade jam and nut butter. Savoury toppings range from avocado, feta and lemon; smoked salmon, dill cream cheese and capers; or tomato, ricotta and balsamic. Or try one of the daily specials such as golden crumpets topped with bacon, banana, maple syrup and puffed grains.

Meanwhile, loaded crumpets, or Crumpys, include the Cure (fried egg, bacon and cheese), Mushroom Man (mushrooms, jalapeno, cheese, sour cream and green tomato chutney), and the Classic (Branston pickles and three cheeses).

Sometimes simple is best - think hot, buttered crumpets drizzled with honey, or smeared with house-made jam or tasty vegemite. 

Coffee on pour is by Tim Adams, served along with batch brew, cold brew, hot chocolate, chai latte, loose leaf tea, and an array of cold drinks.
