Holiday Fun at State Library of Queensland

Your school holiday adventure awaits at the State Library this winter, with plenty of opportunities to unleash your creativity and discover new ways to play, from Saturday 22 June to Sunday 7 July 2024.

Transform into an animal through costumes and stories with Nylon Zoo, experiment with line and shape in The Corner, or tell your story through portrait play in kuril dhagun.

Save the date for Winter night on Saturday 29 June (1pm-7pm) – a special nocturnal program with illuminated inflatable animals, games, light projection, music and more, creating a magical experience for all ages.

What’s on: 

Nylon Zoo* – step into a whimsical world filled with costumes, inflatable animals, interactive storytime and much more.

Winter night* – experience a unique after dark event at Winter night with light projection, music and games.

Make your mark – tell your own story when you experiment with line and shape to create imaginary worlds. 

Portrait play – contribute to our portrait mural and celebrate the power of community and identity.

Scavenger hunt – find clues, solve puzzles and explore the secrets of the library. 

Tagtool projection – bring your ideas to life through the magic of animation.
