Australia's leading contemporary dance company, Sydney Dance Company, makes a long-awaited return to Brisbane with Twofold, at Brisbane Powerhouse from October 17-19, 2024.

Twofold is a monumental double bill featuring the return of Rafael Bonachela’s beloved IMPERMENANCE alongside new work LOVE LOCK by renowned choreographer Melanie Lane, who brought the critically acclaimed WOOF to the stage in 2019.

IMPERMENANCE

Rafael Bonachela’s critically-acclaimed IMPERMENANCE is a visceral and thrilling exploration of the juxtaposition of beauty and devastation, featuring an evocative score by Grammy Award-winning Bryce Dessner, performed live on stage by the Australian String Quartet.

LOVE LOCK

What does the future of folk dance look like? Choreographed by renowned artist Melanie Lane, LOVE LOCK is a re-imagined folk dance that absorbs the complex fabric of our diverse cultures, of an accelerating world, of disappearing lands. LOVE LOCK draws upon these collective experiences and celebrates the binding act of dance to move, warn and empower us.
