The Old Rugged Cross is an extraordinary event honouring a rich musical heritage, while showcasing the divine artistry of Emma Donovan and Paul Grabowsky, at QPAC on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Experience the captivating voice of Emma Donovan, as the Australian singer/songwriter revisits the gospel music and hymns that shaped her upbringing, including familiar favorites like “I’ll Fly Away” and “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”, popularised by legends such as Johnny Cash and the Carter Family.

Emma will also perform heartfelt songs by her grandfather Micko Donovan, a memorable tribute to Aretha Franklin's “Amazing Grace”, and selections from her latest album, “Til My Song is Done”.

Paul Grabowsky

In this special one-off concert, Emma collaborates with the acclaimed pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor Paul Grabowsky. His masterful arrangements breathe new life into these timeless pieces, offering a soulful homage to tradition and a celebration of Emma Donovan’s incredible talent.
