Campos Cafe Roastery

Fortitude Valley

CAMPOS COFFEE ROASTERY HAS CLOSED AND MOVED ITS MAJOR ROASTING DIGS TO NEWSTEAD BUT STILL OPERATES A CAFE FURTHER UP WANDOO ST (ON THE CORNER OF ANN ST).

At the rear of the spiffy black shed housing the Campos roastery is its cafe, with not just great coffee on offer but food that’s a bit of all right too.

Navigate the artificial grass laneway with its upturned milk crates to a funky corrugated iron-walled room packed with diners. Here, cooled by Asian palm fans rotating propeller style you can partake in a menu that features all day breakfast as well as a smattering of light meals such as a BLT or Asian noodle salad, and that changes fortnightly.

The inner alcove, with bar stools for drinkers rather than diners, has the standard viewing window onto the roastery. Here a range of fresh bean blends are available to take away as are the coffees.

Note that last food orders are taken at 2.45pm and takeaway coffee only is available after 3.45pm
