THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE HERE

Join Australia’s most intrepid and provocative storyteller, John Safran, for an evening of sharp wit, dark humour, and cultural commentary as he talks to Matthew Condon about his latest book, Squat, at Brisbane Powerhouse on Monday, November 4.

The writer and filmmaker’s new book recounts his stranger-than-fiction experience travelling to Los Angeles and squatting at a well-known celebrity’s mansion (identity to be revealed). With the celebrity’s promotion of Hitler as a starting point, Safran explores threads of Jewishness, identity, and belonging – topics that couldn’t hit closer to home.

On the page and on the small screen, John Safran is known for pushing boundaries – his own, other people’s, and society’s – to examine big questions about life and belief from an utterly original perspective.

This one-night-only event on Monday, 4 November, is guaranteed to leave you buzzing long after the lights go out!
