FIG TREE DELI CAFE HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY RALPH & CO

Fig Tree Deli Cafe is a breakfast cafe and gourmet providore tucked away in a little shopping plaza in the thick of the eastern suburbs.

Don’t be fooled by the centre’s cookie cutter exterior for, as savvy locals know, Samuel Village has more than its fair share of gems like this.

Sit indoors by the pantry shelves or under the art wall or outdoors in an annexed pavilion and enjoy breakfast such as Spanish eggs or mushrooms with avocado, sourdough and to-die-for red pepper marmalade or the Eggs Benedict.

Lunches are delicious too, the Merlo coffee is well-made and the selection of deli items and foodstuffs sourced locally and globally are first class. Dutch biscuits, Italian and French cheeses, Spanish meats, Belgian chocolates, pink salt, French moutarde, top shelf oils, sauces and jams, little paella pans, coffee beans, gingerbread, Japanese teapots and more will have only the strong-willed leaving empty-handed.
