Kennigo Social House is Spring Hill’s best kept dining secret - a charming restaurant bar in a stately heritage-listed building that started life in 1885 as a boarding house ‘for respectable gentlemen’.

The award-winning restaurant has become known as a local Brisbane hot spot for affordable modern Australian cuisine with a casual atmosphere and gorgeous heritage surroundings.

Diners can take a seat on the wraparound wrought-iron verandah or in the front room with handmade brick walls, dark timber floors, sash windows and Victorian fireplaces and enjoy delicious highly affordable meals created from local produce, including herbs from Kennigo Social House's own garden.

The setting may be 19th Century but the menu is modern day, with the latest spring summer menu including delectable starters such as Chef Anthony's home-made pumpkin gnocchi, lamb sausage rolls and lemonade tempura Barossa Valley halloumi.

A diverse array of main dishes includes pork tenderloin, confit duck Maryland and the classic MSA char grilled rib fillet, while exclusive to Kennigo Social House and an absolute must-try is Kobe @ Kennigo, an 11+ Master Kobe Rib Fillet served with braised daikon slaw, lotus crisps, wasabi and ponzu dipping sauces.

Meanwhile summer desserts include beautiful creations such as Affogato vanilla bean ice cream, coffee shot, biscotti and liqueur, with vegan options such as the popular Vegan carrot slice with peanut butter frosting and mixed berry and coconut sorbet. (There are also vegan dishes available for entree and main).
