Salt Meats Cheese
Newstead
SALT MEATS CHEESE HAS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Salt Meats Cheese, renowned for their quirky twist on bona fide Italian food, is nestled within Gasworks newest complex on Skyring Terrace, Newstead.
The Italian-Riveria style restaurant has al fresco dining that overlooks the river park. Sliding doors open up the interior, enabling inside guests to enjoy the view too. The restaurant is laden with white, geometric chairs and mosaic tiled tables. Palm trees dress the outdoors to embrace Queensland’s tropical weather.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As the name suggests, Salt Meats Cheese is renowned for their seasoned dishes and cheesy meals – let’s just say it’s a carb-lover’s paradise. There’s a range of entrées, antipasto, salads, pasta and pizza for lunch and dinner. Unique dishes adorn the menu too, such as their yellow fin tuna tartare.
If you’re thinking of choosing pasta for lunch consider their gnocchi di patate gamberi e pesto; in English this is a potato gnocchi with basil pesto and prawns.
If pizza is more your style, you’re spoilt for choice at Salt Meats Cheese. They even have all vegan pizzas – try the di bosco, a vegan pizza base topped with brown mushrooms, truffle paste, dairy free mozzarella and olive oil.
The antipasto platters are perfect for group dining, or an accompaniment to a few cocktails. The Lot features a mix of salumi, cheese, olives, house-made onion jam, pickles and a whole pizza of focaccia.
There is beer, wine, cider, soft drinks and a selection of cocktails on the drinks menu. Try their bellini diferente, a house made peach sorbet topped with prosecco. Or their kaffirinha, sagatiba cachaça and handmade kaffir lime sorbetto topped with prosecco.
If you need a caffeine hit try their coffee in a cone – the most instagrammable coffee in world.
Need to know – Centre parking is available in Gasworks.
