Cork & Chroma
South Brisbane
Updated: Mar 09, 2025
Paint, sip, create! is the motto at Cork & Chroma, Brisbane’s first art and wine studio, now found tucked away on Little Stanley St South Bank.
Following the drink and paint craze currently sweeping through the USA, owners BJ and Hillary have created their very own artistic nest in Cork & Chroma, where artists and non-artists can congregate day and night and paint with or without the influence of BYO wine/champagne.

In a bright studio with ceiling to floor glass walls, up to 32 aspiring artists gather at clusters of easels and paint with the provided acrylics. In the spirit of getting back to the old-fashioned art and craft basics, this is the perfect outlet to reclaim your inner artist or find it for the first time.
Evening sessions and Saturday mornings are easy teacher-led classes that anyone can achieve a good result with and weekday afternoons are given over to those who just want a space and materials as an outlet to paint their own inspired creations.

In the evenings gaggles of friends gather for fun nights out, arriving armed with wine or champagne. Cork & Chroma provide elegant wine glasses (no corkage charge!) and ice buckets and, for a small charge, gourmet nibbles like marinated olives and grissini and spiced nut mixes and brownies from Dello Mano.
Coffee, tea, organic sodas and bubbly H2O are also available and for sale are a small variety of creative goods: retro aprons, scented candles, groovy T-shirts and hand-painted home wares. And while they’re not for sale, check out the small arrangement of ornate Japanese vintage calligraphy brushes.

Need to know: This is the perfect girl’s morning/night out (including a hen’s night with a difference) and, for single guys, Brisbane’s best kept secret girl-meeting club. And being a 3 minute walk from GOMA it makes to perfect de facto art activity session for adults inspired by the art gallery exhibitions.
