Seq's Best Super Parks

Updated: Mar 09, 2025

They are the parks that ate south east Queensland, the mega green spaces that are the Elle MacPhersons and Kate Mosses of outdoor recreation - our super parks.

Endowed with fantasy themed playgrounds, dog off leash areas, picnic and barbecue facilities, artworks, water play, landscaped gardens, walking paths and even cafes, they go way beyond the call of duty in providing outdoor fun for the community.

While a couple of them have been around since the 19th century, others are brand spanking new; some are loved to death and some are barely known; some are refashioned from reclaimed land whilst others have been master-planned.

Regardless, they’re all worth a visit at least once, whether visitor or jaded local so here’s the how, what, where and why of finding them.
