Robelle Domain
Springfield Lakes
Putting new meaning to the word green space, master-planned Robelle Domain is a sprawling 24ha expanse that is the jewel in the crown of Springfield Central Parklands.
No recreational stone has been left unturned here, with 5km of bike paths winding their way past groves of ghost gums, tree top walks, a lake, waterfall, 10,000 seat amphitheatre and stage and the country's first Icon on Galaxy interactive play equipment in an all abilities playground.
In summer, the hotspot is the free-standing mini aquativity park featuring jet sprays and a 7000 litre tipping water bucket (young children should take care here as the ground when wet becomes a slippery free for all).
State-of-the-art barbecues and picnic amenities are dotted throughout and by night the feature lighting and 9m-high light tower installations take over with light shows between 7-9pm.
Also tucked within is a cafe and giant swimming lagoon, a Mexican eatery and capping it all off are Saturday morning markets from 7am-12pm.
The best parking is accessed by John Nugent Way or Southern Cross Circuit.
