Brisbane and surrounds offer children and families a wide range of opportunities to experience living history. From exploring an 19th century fortress ruin or old Navy ship to  experiencing life a century ago, here are some great ways to learn about life in the "olden days":

Wander around this replica village which is also home to a working blacksmith's forge, an old fashioned lolly shop and a bustling Sunday market. A visit to Pine Rivers Heritage Museum's school room and Yebri House are also a must visit
