Fan favourite comedians URZILA CARLSON and NAZEEM HUSSAIN are bringing their hugely popular stand up-shows to Brisbane Powerhouse in September!

Urzila Carlson

Join multi-award winning South-African Kiwi comedian, Urzila Carlson for a hilarious night out when she returns to Brisbane Powerhouse for an encore of her Just No show on Friday, September 27, 2024.

We live in trying times where we are acutely aware of each other's opinions and shortcomings, making us the most frustrated population in the history of humankind. If you've ever queued up and someone blatantly cuts in front of you, past generations may have let that slide, but us, No - JUST NO!

In Just No, Urzila has discovered our frustrations are what brings us together - not sport, not love, not peace - but people who do us wrong or get on our nerves. Even Urzila's chart-topping premiere podcast That's Enough Already! sees her discussing everything that frustrates them, and after three seasons, Urzila is yet to find one that she disagrees with!

Effortlessly likeable... stream of belly-laughs.” - The Age

Carlson is a gifted and accomplished comedian - an absolute must-see.” - Appetite for the Arts

Belly laughs and guffaws aplenty.” ★★★★★ - The Music

Nazeem Hussain

Following his sold-out Brisbane Comedy Festival season, Nazeem Hussain returns to Brisbane Powerhouse on Saturday, September 28, 2024 with his encore show 'Totally Normal'.

Whether you've laughed at him on TV, followed him on TikTok, or perhaps tailed him in real life (creepy, but he appreciates the commitment), don't miss the chance to strap in for a full dose of Nazeem, live and up-close.

Nazeem has fast become one of the biggest stars of Australian comedy and a much-loved television and radio personality, with almost 1.5 million followers on social media.

His NETFLIX special Nazeem Hussain: Public Frenemy, filmed in Montreal at the Just For Laughs Festival, was released in 2019, streaming globally in 180 countries, introducing Nazeem to a legion of new fans and garnered widespread critical acclaim. He followed it up in 2022 with Hussain in the Membrane on YouTube, with several routines from the special racking up millions of views.

"Reinventing Australian Comedy” – Herald Sun

"Hussain is a wonderful comedic artist who blends observation with comedy that crafts an intelligent and hilarious show.” – Edinburgh Festivals Magazine (UK)

"And just when you think you have him pegged, he sneaks up on you again, showing society's conventional wisdom to be little more than prejudice, yet somehow picking out something side-splittingly funny therein.” –The Times (UK)

Need to know - These encore shows will be filmed for an upcoming special.
