Eighteen 88

Woolloongabba

EIGHTEEN 88 HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY FABLES BAR & CAFE.

Eighteen 88 is a character-filled café, housed in the beautiful, heritage-listed Princess Theatre in Woolloongabba.

This charming café pays homage to its historic home, named after the year this grand old lady and former theatre was built. The exposed brick work and polished floorboards add old world, vintage charm. Tiny tables fill the small space with additional seating available on the footpath.

Breakfast fare ranges from simple avocado served on sourdough toast lightly dusted with sumac, and crunchy granola with spiced panna cotta and fresh fruit to fluffy lemon, ricotta and buttermilk pancakes served with mango sorbet, seasonal fruit and maple syrup, and wholesome cottage cheese and corn fritters topped with bacon, avocado and tomato salsa and drizzled with house made tomato sauce.

Coffee on pour is roasted locally by Dramanti Artisan Roasters and goes down well with the homemade treats on offer such as vegan raspberry slice, gluten free orange cake and chocolate brownies.

Besides coffee, there are organic, loose leaf teas from The Tea Centre, cold pressed juices by Botanica and organic sodas like classic cola, lemon squash and ginger beer by StrangeLove.
