Beginning at Lindy Lee’s awe-inspiring Being Swallowed by the Milky Way, the tour winds through the precinct’s vibrant new Art Trail, showcasing works by First Nations, Queensland and international artists alongside historical buildings and landmarks.

From colourful alfresco murals to towering sculptures and floating botanical gardens, this tour reveals the many layers of the city’s past and present, in a celebration of shared public space, creativity and transformation.

Local artist Justene Williams Sheila is a larger-than-life bronze goddess that cuts an arresting female figure, while nature is a prominent theme in the alfresco art with leading First Nations artist Tony Albert, whose 15-metre floating botanical garden of native plants is titled Inhabitant.

The late Wukun Wanambi’s Destiny, features a large-scale aluminium sculpture of three mullet fish, while Lungfish Dreamz is a supersized mosaic wall by local artist Samuel Tupou.

Works by high profile international artists, Sir Antony Gormely OBE RA and Tom Friedman, also feature alongside the Australian artists

The tour concludes on the Sky Deck, where participants can take in sweeping views of the city and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount* on purchases at Cicada Blu (Wednesdays), or Babblers (Saturdays).

Good to know - This tour has been designed to suit most fitness levels and abilities. Elevators, ramps and public restrooms are available across the tour.

Need to know - Tours, which are 90 mins in duration, depart from the George Street entry of The Star in front of Lindy Lee’s sculpture “Being Swallowed by the Milky Way”. Maximum of 15 visitors per tour.
