Visitors will be able to peel back the layers of history through recent CT scans conducted on Egyptian mummified human and animal remains, with the results of the analysis being made public in Australia for the first time via a cutting-edge digital interactive.

Other highlights include colourful papyrus sheets of the Egyptian Book of the Dead; a sizable collection of exquisitely painted funerary coffins; and a group of beautifully carved statues from the Saqqara necropolis.

The collection, considered among the top 10 Egyptian collections worldwide outside its country of origin, is on tour from the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities (RMO) as part of a collaboration between the Western Australian Museum, National Museum of Australia, and Queensland Museum.
