Bar Francine is a rustic neighbourhood wine bar and eatery located in an historic West End cottage that has previously housed a nursery, cafe and vintage shop.
From the owners of vegan Mexican joint El Planta, Bar Francine serves natural Australian wines and a daily Euro-inspired seafood and vegetarian food menu.
The cosy chic interior of Bar Francine offers a mix of dining tables with Bentwood chairs and, bar stools along the windows, with a bar in one corner, dark wooden trimmings, vintage lights and tiled floors.
On the wine list are organic and natural wines from small batch producers around Australia and there's also a selction of ecoSPirits and craft beers.
The food menu, which varies daily, offers tasty bites like tuna bruschetta and piperade; pizza fritta or mushroom parfait with mustard seed and crostoli, and small dishes such as onion fritti with creme fraiche & mint jelly.
Larger dishes include the likes of rigatoni, zucchini, mint & pecorino; monkfish Veronique, asparagus & orange wine; or creamed corn, swimmer crab with tarragon & chilli butter. And to follw there;s cheese, jatz & jam or sweet dishes like profiterole, vanilla gelato & chocolate sauce.
