Red Bowler Coffee Lounge & Wine Bar
West End
Red Bowler Coffee Lounge & Wine Bar is a hidden gem of a vintage coffee lounge and bar tucked away in a converted ex-Convenience Store near the river in West End.
An elegant retreat from the bustling main streets of West End, Red Bowler is the go-to for breakfast and an excellent cup of Cleanskin coffee or tea Paddington Loose Leaf Tea in the mornings and a relaxing glass of wine or whisky in the evenings.
Decked out with an eclectic mix of retro and antique furniture, which is arranged to create intimate lamplit nooks, Red Bowler features gilt framed mirrors, oil paintings and a collection of upside down umbrellas on the ceiling and a red bowler hat on the wall above the counter.
Behind the unique ever-changing wine list is a wine collector of 40 years who selects and buys wines in short runs. To accompany there's nibbles such as roasted nuts, mixed marinated olives, fresh bread and french butter or warm bread and home-made dips.
For something non-alcoholic, there are also chai lattes, juices, hot chocolate, boutique soft drink, kombuccha and a babycino for the little ones.
Need to know - On Friday nights you can grab some dinner from the kerb, with a rotating roster of Brisbane's favourite food trucks parked outside.
