Behind the plain brick façade of Redlands Coast Museum lies a wonderland of memorabilia from the past, beautifully displayed and laid out for visitors. In fact this is the kind of place that history and nostalgia buffs could get lost in for hours, poking around the well curated collection from colonial to late twentieth century times.
The collection covers all aspects of life and is divided into farming, maritime, schooling, transport, textile, medical, musical, communication and social history zones. Clothing from one of the first families to inhabit the Cleveland area and their descendants, barber chairs, switchboards, doll collections, farming implements, a mock up colonial kitchen and school room and maritime uniforms are but some of the items on display while one whole section holds an amazing well preserved cache of transportation throughout the years, including a vintage rail motor from the same batch that once serviced Cleveland and surrounding stations, a steam engine, sulkies, the original butcher's cart, a Cobb and Co coach and a 1960's Mini Minor.
