Botellon Tapas & Wine Bar
Graceville
Botellon is a gorgeous Spanish tapas and wine bar in an historic corner store on Graceville's leafy Honour Avenue dining strip.
Diners can sit on the wraparound covered terrace or at the deep green-tiled bar or one of the cosy tables inside, where the brick walls have been stripped back to create a charming rustic ambience.
Open for a light breakfast accompanied by coffee from Noosa's First Batch, Botellon is the go-to for delicious authentic Spanish tapas by day or night, making the perfect spot for a drink and bite to eat before or after catching a movie at the local Regal Twin Cinema.
Delectable tapas (traditional with a twist) include patatas bravas with spicy tomato salsa, lemon and garlic mayonnaise; crispy eggplant with thyme and truffle honey; chorizo a la cider with pickled onions; twice cooked octopus with paprika and garlic, ajo bianco foam and basil oil; and potato and bacalao croquettes with hickory smoked skordalia.
There's also cheese platters with manchego, valdeon, jamon, navarro, machego and fresh baked sourdough along with a choice of sardines escabache or in organic extra virgin olive oil, Spanish mackarel fillets, olive oil anchovy fillets and oil premium tuna.
For something more substantial there's a choice of mains such as 16-hour lamb belly with smoked eggplant romesco and tahini puree; 350g Stradbroke Angus fillet with chimchurri and farola; pot mussels with jamon bits in romesco and white wine with crispy sourdough or marinated chicken thigh with bomba rice, fresh la boqueria chorizo and saffron stick.
And for dessert Botellon offers Spanish vaes like Crema Catalana (cinnamon and citrus-infused); Arros con leche (creamy rice pudding with red wine poached pear and sherry reduction) and Botellon's own house made crispy affogato churros (vanilla-infused and custard-filled) with cinnamon sugar and Lick! dulce de leche.
To drink there's a curated wine list of Australian boutique and Spanish wines by the glass or bottle, beers on tap including Estrella and Peroni, a selection of sherries including Don Nuno Oloroso, La guita manzanilla and Valdespino inocente fino and a handful of cocktails including Espresso Martini, Peach Fizz, Sour Sunrise and Dark & Stormy.
Nice to know - The corner store that Botellon inhabits was built by Walter Taylor who also built the famous Indooroopilly bridge of the same name.
Need to know - There's on-street parking on Honour Avenue and Richmond St and Graceville Station is conveniently across the road.
