West End Markets
West End
Updated: Sep 04, 2025
A chilled laidback vibe permeates the boho West End Markets by the river (formerly known as Davies Park Market).
Dogs and shopping trolleys are the order of the day and the market stalls are arranged in a fig-shaded ring around Davies Park oval.
Start with a chai tea inside the Montague entrance and once stocked up with fruit and vegies, herbs and spices, mud crabs, liquorice, macadamias, artisan breads and embroidered clothing, grab a coffee from the organic coffee cart and head for the fig trees on the river bank where you can find peace with a folk guitarist whilst watching river craft glide by.
Should hunger strike, there’s a plentiful supply of Japanese pancakes and dumplings, African meatballs, tofu wraps or hot bananas with toasted coconut and maple syrup. For something more substantial head for the Nest, where in the courtyard of the Leagues clubhouse about halfway along you can partake in the scrummy English hot breakfast. (Coffee, however is best left to the coffee cart folk.)
This market is accessible on bike or foot via the river pathways and Kurilpa Bridge from the city.
