Salisbury Community Bookshop
Salisbury
Updated: Nov 06, 2025
Salisbury Community Bookshop is a treasure trove of bargain books for all ages, housed in a former grenade factory in the heart of Salisbury’s industrial hub on Chrome Street.
From bombs to books, this World War II era shed has been transformed into a cute, secondhand bookshop by the Salisbury Community Group, created when Cystic Fibrosis closed the doors of their well-loved book store on Ainsworth Street.
Run by dedicated volunteers and stocked solely by donations, this non-profit shop is chockers full of paperbacks and hardcover books for bibliophiles of all ages.
Nooks and crannies are lined with tall, metal shelves filled with books across all genres, from classic literature and science-fiction to romance novels and self-help books on cooking, gardening, travel and more.
There’s even a dedicated section for young adults and a cute kid’s zone with bright red shelves and soft, padded floor.
