Mt Gravatt Markets

Sunday

Updated: Aug 20, 2025

Mt Gravatt Sunday Markets, a sizeable and cheap fruit and vegetable market is a bit of a religion for southsiders who arrive in their droves to stock up on the extraordinary variety of produce peddled here.

A mix of growers and grocers line the lengthy aisles while in the centre is a little food court where Poffertjes (Dutch pancakes), bacon and eggs, Translyvanian pancakes, curry puffs, Vietnamese sticky rice cakes, Turkish bread pizzas and Black Sheep coffee are on offer.

As well as all of the usual mainstream fruits and veges, there's a wide range of multicultural staples – finger limes, bread fruit, okra, bamboo shoots, persimmon, snake beans, curry leaves, durian, dragon fruit, black sapota (choc pudding fruit) and longans, as well as uncommon varieties such as banana potatoes, winter melon, white sweet potatoes, seedless dates and purple striped finger eggplants.

Otherwise free range eggs, smallgoods (pork/beef kulin, cacciatore and salami), Indian sweets, buckets of olives, spices, goat and sheep cheese, spices and teas are all there for the well-priced taking.

Beyond the food stalls is the flea market section which resembles a car boot sale with people selling off their worldly goods – here's the place to pick up a bargain in everything from musical instruments, bar bells and figurines to used life jackets, power tools and bar fridges.
