Fire Kitchen + Bar
Kangaroo Point
Fire Kitchen + Bar is a garden-style American BBQ restaurant and smokehouse tucked away in a side street of Kangaroo Point.
From humble beginnings as a food truck, thanks to its popularity with the punters Fire has made a permanent home for itself in a covered al fresco space underneath The Docks on Goodwin.
Diners can take a seat in the leafy fairylit courtyard and indulge in a delicious smokin'hot menu starting with snacks like chicken wings (with BBQ, ranch or chilli sauce), mac'n'cheese (according to past customers the 'best ever'), mini cheese kranskis and dirty or loaded fries.
Next there are gourmet hot dogs (bratwurst or spicy jalapeno & cheese sausage) and a choice of burgers - smash (smashed Angus beef patty), vegan or vegetarian, or low'n'slow (cajun spiced chicken, 9 hour smoked pulled pork, 12 hour smoked beef brisket). or monster (combo of smoked sausage, pulled pork & smoked brisket).
Large plates (also to share) include Low'n'Slow BBQ Plates (9 hour smoked pulled pork, 12 hour smoked beef brisket, 6 hour smoked pork ribs or 12 hour smoked beef ribs) with slaw, pickles, bread roll, BBQ sauce & chips). Or upgrade to a Low'n'Slow Feasting Tray or Meat Feast with combos of the above.
Otherwise dishes from the Charcoal Grill include lamb cutlets with couscous and garlic aioli; rib fillet or sirloin with garden sald, chips & gravy; blackened salmon with creamy mash and garden salad; grilled squid with garlic, chilli & parsley; and cauliflower steak with chickpeas, red onion, mixed leaves, olive oil and lemon dressing.
There are also a couple of decadent desserts to choose from - chocolate brownie, torched marshmallow & burnt caramel or creme brulee.
Meanwhile kids have a choice of GF chicken nuggets and chips or special kids hot dog (German frankfurter and tomato sauce on brioche rolls. And for those with dietary requirements, almost all of the dishes on the menu can be prepared gluten free or dairy free.
From the drinks menu there's 2 local Brisbane craft beers on tap and a selection of canned local craft beers, a concise wine list of Australian drops, along with spirits (whisky, rum, tequila, vodka and gin). There's also soft drinks, ginger beer, still and sparkling water and juice.
