Taste of Saffron
Stones Corner
Taste of Saffron is a Persian and Mediterranean restaurant tucked away in Stones Corner, serving up delicious authentic cuisine that won't break the budget.
The restaurant is split in to two sections, the main dining area and a larger function room complete with a stage (the function room holds 100 guests). The walls are papered with beautiful gold foiled print and the tables are set with red and gold tablecloths and little lanterns, making it feel like you’ve just stepped away from Brisbane.
The menu, which is completely Halal, has a wide range of food (including gluten free and vegetarian options) from starters like Dolmeh (vine leaves stuffed with rice, herbs and spices) and soups, Barbecue and Grill favourites, slow cooked stews and rise dishes to sweet Mediterranean favourite Baklava (layers of filo pastry filled with nuts and syrup). The secret to these delicious options are the traditional family recipes and authentic ingredients, creating a mouth-watering dining experience.
Lunch specials are available daily and this is a great way to try dishes in smaller quantities – there is no such thing as a ‘small’ meal however. The Gheymey – a slow-cooked lamb dish with split peas in a tomato sauce comes with a serving of rice, a side salad and a can of drink. Another delicious option is the Koobideh Kabab – a char-grilled skewer of minced lamb seasoned with herbs and spices. This is also available in a lager serving on the normal menu.
There is also a range Persian Teas, non- alcoholic beers and even Doogh (Salty lassi) on offer as well as soft drinks and juices.
Need to know - Street parking can be found in the surrounding streets. During the day it can become quite busy so get there early enough to find a park. The Stones Corner Bus Interchange is also a short walk away.
