Mr Wabi
Brisbane CBD
Mr Wabi is a funky Pan Asian street food eatery and bar nestled in Brisbane's oldest laneway, Burnett Lane.
Take a seat overlooking the lane or inside the sunken dimlit interior which features booths, neon-lit artworks and the sounds of hiphop.
The food menu will take you on a delicious trip through the streets of Asia, starting with small bites like soft shell crab; crispy pork belly with hot English mustard, mayo and pickles; prawn toast; lamb ribs (battered and deep-fried); cauliflower sauteed in satay sauce or Peking Duck spring roll or Kingfish and Salmon sashimi.
A selection of Bao buns come with fillings such as slow cooked beef, crispy fried chicken, Peking Duck, five spiced tofu or char sui pork, while dumplings include veggie, Mongolian lamb.
There's also a choice of Asian style burgers (Wagyu, pork belly or veggie) as well as larger plates like Korean fried chicken pieces; salt & pepper fried king prawns; and steamed coral trout fillet
To accompany there are Asian-flavoured cocktails like Opium Den, Smoke & Spice, Blood Flower and Mr Miltini (dark rum & coffee liqueur), beer including Sapporo and Mr Wabi lager and a selection of boutique wines.
Need to know - Mr Wabi is closer to the George St end of Burnett lane, occupying the space that used to be El Matador.
