Bikeway

Updated: Mar 08, 2025

A labyrinth of dirt trails cuts through this lovely gum-forested koala reserve, with three circuits of varying lengths open to horse and bike riders. At the start of the trails is the Koala Centre where a close encounter with a koala is guaranteed for those who miss out in the bush. Of the car parks on offer, aim for the smaller upper car park area (turn right before the main gates) which is closer to the start of the riding tracks.

1. Spotted Gum Track – The least taxing of the three rides, this one follows a fairly level ridge of spotted gum eucalypts for around 4km - roughly a 45min to 1 hr ride.

2. Stringybark Trail – The middle size circuit takes in the Bohot Creek Catchment with its shy resident red-necked and swamp wallabies and glades of stringybarks gums. At around 5.7km return, this is roughly a 1 to 1 hr 15 ride.

3. Buhot Creek Circuit – The longest and most varied of the trails, this one ventures into the nearby Neville Laurie reserve and encompasses water holes, an old quarry with views and a range of vegetation. At 9km return, this is around a 2 to 2 and a half hour ride.
