Walkway to Ceylon

Stones Corner

Updated: Sep 28, 2025

Walkway to Ceylon brings a delicious and authentic taste of Sri Lanka to Stones Corner, one of the few Sri Lankan restaurants in Brisbane and the only one with a menu that is solely dedicated to Sri Lankan cuisine.

Interior of Walkway to Ceylon restaurant

The minimalist and spacious interior is bathed in golden lighting, with a video wall showing scenes of Sri Lanka, an eye-catching timber bar and an elevated space at the rear that is deal for large groups.

On the street-food focused menu are starters like Sri Lankan croquettes (tempered fish, potato, onion & Sri Lankan spices, in crispy golden fried batter) with salad & dipping sauce; or chicken crispy roll (crepes stuffed with tempered potato, onion & Sri Lankan spice, crumbed & deep fried) served with red chill dipping sauce & salad.

Kottu dish at Walkway to Ceylon

House specialties include the popular Sri Lankan street food dishes Kottu (shredded roti tossed with egg, vegetables, served with fried egg, tomato & chilli paste and curry sauce); and egg roti (Godhamba roti folded with eggs, cooked on a griddle and served with curry & traditional Sri Lankan sambal).  Both come with a choice of vegetarian, pork, lamb or chicken curry.

Another fave is the chef's special coconut roti, served with dhal curry, lunu miris & meat or vegetable curry; and Ceylon bites - a choice of devilled tofu, chicken, pork, calamari or prawns, stir-fried with sauces, onion & capsicum; along with classics like nasi goreng and vegetable or mixed fried rice.

Banana Leaf feast at Walkway to Ceylon

Highly recommended is the quintessential Sri Lankan meal, the 299 Banana Leaf Feast - aromatic rice with two vegetable curries of the day and choice of meat curry (chicken, pork, lamb or soy meat), served with fish cutlet, pappadum and condiments. The other must-try is the Ceylon crab curry (a Sri Lankan favourite), with traditional bread (roast paan) & coconut sambal. Then for sweets, try the Wattaluppum (coconut & juggery custard pudding with vanilla ice-cream) or the Chef's special dessert platter.

Mockyails on table at Walkway to Ceylon

Drinks-wise, the perfect accompaniment are the mocktails such as Tama (tangy tamarind) and Mirissa Surf (blue curacao, lemon juice, lemonade & mint) or Ceylon black tea. Otherwise there's a concise wine list, house cocktails, beers on tap and by the bottle (including Sri Lankan Lion Lager), juices and traditional dessert drinks like wood apple or falooda (similar to a thick shake, with the option to add ice-cream).
