Clover Neighbourhood Bar
Holland Park
Clover Neighbourhood Bar is a cool laidback bar and kitchen tucked away in a tiny Holland Park retail strip, from the canny folks behind The Woods Bar in Mitchelton.
Diners can take a seat on the enclosed covered terrace fronting the car park or inside where there's a mix of banquette and dining table seating, bar stools, and out back, an enclosed glass room with views over neighbouring trees and houses.
The spacious yet cosy space, in autumnal colours of orange and brown features a wood panelled bar, VJ walls, colourful paintings and wall lamps.
The laidback convivial pub vibe belies the food that comes out of the kitchen, which is top notch and of restaurant quality, starting with delicious bites like Szechuan calamari, fried zucchini flowers, pork & chive dumplings (with tomato sesame chutney & Sichuan chillim oil) and split tiger prawns (teriyaki glazed, served over romesco & charred lime).
Burgers, a staple of the larger dishes in the menu, are equally delicious, and include cheeseburger, vegan cheeseburger, southern fried chicken burger and the Clover burger (wagyu beef patty, onion, pickles, tomato, balsamic caramelized onion, jack cheese & hpuse special burger sauce).
For mains there's a choice of chicken parmi or schnitzel, MB2 Qld rib fillet, burnt butter mash, thyme roasted witlof & blistered cherry tomatoes with bordelaise sauce and chimichurri; and pad thai (highly recommended).
For dessert there's sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce, vanilla-infused berry compote and vanilla ice-cream and for children, kids karaage chicken with fries.
Drinks-wise, there's a range of craft beers on tap, a concise wine list of mostly Australian wines and cocktails including espresso, lychee or french martini; classic or Tommy's margarita; whisky or amaretto sour; agave, aperol or limoncello spritz or mojito; as well as a couple of mocktails.
Good to know - Dogs on leash are welcome to join their owners on the covered terrrace outside.
Need to know - There is limited amount of off-street parking out front.
