Dijon

Tarragindi

Dijon, a gourmet toastie cafe has opened in Tarragindi, from the folks behind some of Brisbane's most popular cafes - Deedot Coffee House (Holland Park), Groundhog Social (Manly) and Never Been (Underwood).

Nestled on leafy street in Tarragindi, where Esher St Cafe used to be, Dijon specialises in gourmet toasties with tasty fillings like Ham and Three Cheese (vintage cheddar, provolone and gruyere), Kinda Reuben (beef pastrami, sauerkraut and pickles) and Brisket Dipper (slow-cooked beef brisket with jalapeno cream cheese, served with brisket gravy dipping sauce).

Besides hot toasties, there's a handful of freshies such as Cold Cuts (mortadella, salami and ham), Chicken (spiced shredded chicken with cucumber and lettuce) and a classic Salad sandwich with chunky hummus, beetroot relish, grated carrot, cucumber, and lettuce on fresh Turkish bread.

Breaky sangas include an Egg and Cheese Muffin (with the option of adding a sausage patty, bacon or both) and the quintessential Smashed Avo on sourdough with beetroot dukkah and feta.

In addition, there's a couple of side kicks - tater tots and potato salad - plus sweet treats like chunky New York-style cookies and a Cookie Sundae with vanilla bean ice-cream and chocolate fudge.

Coffee on pour is supplied by Gold Coast-based independent coffee roaster Roast by Yili, served along with teas, hot chocolate, dirty chai, specialty lattes (chai, turmeric, and taro), fresh juices, smoothies, shakes and and fruity frappes.

Good to know - Dijon is dog-friendly with an outdoor, undercover seating area where four-legged friends/family members are welcome.
