Sabor Cafe & Grill
Yeerongpilly
Sabor Cafe & Grill brings a taste of the Philippines to Yeerongpilly with a flavour-filled all day menu including classics like chicken adobo, beef stew (kalderata) and crispy pata (deep-fried pork hock).
This delightful Filipino cafe is a hidden gem, found tucked away at the end of Station Road in industrial Yeerongpilly.
The charming cafe offers plenty of seating, with indoor dining provided in a character-filled space furnished with vintage chairs and tables, plus al fresco on the plant-filled wrap-around verandah, and in a leafy courtyard with undercover dining.
The all day menu includes classic breakfast fare like bacon and egg rolls and a big breakfast of bacon, sausage, scrambled or fried egg, hash brown, roasted tomato, and sourdough toast.
Stand outs on the menu though are the Filipino dishes such as pulled pork or chicken adobo (the national dish of the Philippines); slow-cooked beef brisket stewed in red wine, tomato and spices (kaldereta); sour and salty beef bone broth (cansi); sauteed pork belly in creamy coconut sauce (bicol); sizzling pork belly (sisig) served with garlic rice and egg; and crispy pata (deep-fried pork hock).
The BBQ Platter is recommended for sharing - a mix of marinated meats, chicken, pork belly, pork skewers, sausage and steak, served with salad, two side of rice and gravy.
For sweet tooths, there are Biscoff brownies and the cafe's popular purple jam/ube brownies.
