Milton

Updated: Oct 01, 2025

WHISK AND LADLE CAFE HAS CLOSED.

Whisk and Ladle Cafe is a hidden gem of a slick modern all day breakfast and lunch cafe tucked away in a side street behind Milton’s Park Road.

Here everything –sauces, sweet treats, ice-cream, aioli etc - is baked and made from scratch (except for some of the artisan bread) and the coffee is up there with the best you’ll find in this neck of the woods.

For breakfast there are delicious dishes such as New Yorker buttermilk waffle sandwich with maple bacon and sunnyside egg, Potato Rosti and Haloumi Stack (with sliced avo and poached egg) or Lazy Man’s Omelette – 2 eggs pan-fried with chorizo, cherry tomatoes, goats cheese and a touch of chilli.

From the All Day menu (served until 2pm) diners can choose from something lighter such as the highly recommended Amazon Power Acai Bowl (featuring the delicious house-made almond and coconut granola with fresh seasonal fruit), or the House Granola with sweetened Greek yoghurt, poached pear and seasonal fruit, or a Bacon and Egg Roll.

Coffee at Whisk and Ladle is tops, with a choice of Byron Blue Coffee Reserve single origin or The Colombian Reserve blend (PNG, Brazilian, Ethiopian and Colombian), while the tea on offer is a selection of loose leaf Paddington Tea; and for something cold there’s a selection of smoothies and frappes.

Need to know – It’s easy to drive past Whisk and Ladle Cafe, which is tucked away on a corner underneath a  commercial tower.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
