Valley Municipal Swimming Bath

Fortitude Valley

Updated: Mar 08, 2025

The austere brick façade of Valley Municipal Pool, Brisbane's 1925 swimming baths, belies the open air palm fringed pool area on the other side.

Gone are the diving platforms that thrilled interwar swimmers but something of the historical feel still remains with the spectator stands. The history of bathing on this site predates 1925, as it was once home to the Booraboodin Baths.

Today’s up-to-the-minute facilities include the 50m heated pool, an espresso cart, swimwear and accessories shop and an on-site massage therapist.
