Sushi Jiro

Westfield Chermside

Sushi Jiro is arguably Brisbane's biggest and flashiest sushi train, a dazzling cavernous mirrored restaurant located in the outdoor dining precinct at Westfield Chermside.

A magnet for families and shoppers, Sushi Jiro is open daily for lunch and dinner, with ample booth seating and an abundance of cold and hot dishes to choose from, prepared fresh by the chefs.

Serving traditional Japanese with a contemporary twist, diners can get their fill of nigiri (fish served on top of sushi rice); maki (rice and fish wrapped in seaweed); sashimi; and uramaki (seaweed and fish filling, wrapped in sushi rice).

There's also a selection of gunkan ('boat sushi'); aburi (meat of fish laid over fresh rice);  temaki (fresh sushi hand-rolled into a cone shape) and nori taco (deep-fried seaweed taco shell filled with sushi rice, chicken or beef and lettuce), with the latter two available a la carte.

As well as the dishes passing by on the train, customers can order from the a la carte menu and a robot 'train cabin' delivers from the kitchen to the table via the conveyer belt and opens upon reaching its destination.

To drink, Sushi Jiro offers a selection of soft drinks, water and teas however they do not serve alcohol (no BYO allowed either).

Need to know - Nearest car parking is at the North Shore Car Park located corner of Gympie Rd and Banfield St.
