Lulu Ramen
Rosalie
Lulu Ramen is an authentic Japanese ramen bar tucked away out the back of Rosalie Mews in the Rosalie village precinct of Paddington.
The light-filled contemporary dining space features Japanese artwork on the walls, an open kitchen and pale timber tables and chairs.
Customers order via barcode at the table, with a concise menu featuring a selection of chicken ramen dishes, with a vegan option and a handful of side dishes, which can also be entrees.
Sides include sesame oil sansai (mountain veges); flavoured soft egg and seaweed with sesame sauce, along with karaage chicken, panfried gyoza (shrimp or vegetarian) and tempura platter (prawn, chicken, oyster and eggplant).
Ramen dishes include Chicken Paitan Ramen (chicken white broth, bamboo shoots, shredded green onions, chicken breast low-temperature char sui, lotus root slices & snow peas); Chicken & Bonito Chintan Ramen (like the Chicken Paitan except with the addition of fish broth and no lotus roots); or Sakura Mix Dry Ramen with duck breast (tossed noodle sauce, oil, king oyster mushrooms, duck breast, shredded green onions & snow peas).
House signature dish is the Special Chicken & Bonito Chintan Ramen (chicken clear broth, fish broth, dried bamboo shoots, king oyster mushrooms, duck breast & low-temp chicken breast char sui, solft boiled egg, black truffle sauce, pepper, shredded green onions & snow peas); otherwise there's Vegan Paitan Ramen (vegetarian white broth, dried tofu, king oyster mushrooms, snow peas, shredded green onions & lotus root slices).
Lulu Ramen is licensed* and offers a small range of Japanese drinks, including Daku Cloudy or Mio Japanese Sparkling Sake; Asabiraki or Eikun Junmai Namachozo; Asahi beer; and Japanese cocktails, as well as Oi Ocha Green Tea, Japanese Green Tea, OJ and sparkling water.
