Zero Fox
Teneriffe
Zero Fox Craft Beer and Japanese Kitchen is funky bar eatery in the base of Teneriffe’s historic landmark London Woolstores.
Most of the seating, including a weathered retro couch, is outside on the covered terrace while inside a communal table takes full advantage of the stunning wall art.
Zero Fox makes a perfect spot to relax with a craft beer and some delicious Japanese fusion eats from a menu that features Small Plates, Bowls, Hoso Rolls and an extensive range of Sushi.
A house signature (from the Small Plates) is the Kimchi Fries, a must try that makes the perfect accompaniment to a cold beer and almost a meal unto itself.
Other Small Plates include Beef Tataki, Spicy Chicken Wings, Pork Dumplings and Okonomiyaki and the heartier Bowls come with toppings such as Katsu Chicken or Vegetarian Curry, Teriyaki Salmon and Tempura or Vegetarian Prawn (udon).
Sushi is a standout here at Zero Fox – try the Red or Green Chicken Curry or Butter Chicken, otherwise there’s Spicy or Smoked Salmon, Crispy or Cheesy Chicken, Tempura Prawn, Veggie or Spider Rolls.
Beer-wise there’s 9 craft beers on tap (check the blackboard daily) and the full beer list features a unique and interesting selection craft beers from WA, NZ, SA, Vic, Denmark and the USA, many of which you won’t find elsewhere in Brisbane.
On the menu are Panhead ‘Lola Deville’ Rosehip Saison (NZ), Arrogant Bastard Bourbon Barrel Aged Ale (USA), Feral ‘Sly Fox’ (WA), Mikkeller ‘Better Half’ (Denmark), Black Dog ‘Dead Dog’ Stout (Vic) as well as Willie Smith Perry Cider from Tasmania.
The short, sharp wine list has 3 white and 3 reds from Oz and NZ as well as a couple of sparkling including Veuve Clicquot and spirits are also available.
Need to know – Order food and drinks at the kitchen window overlooking the terrace.
