Teneriffe
Hidden away atop Teneriffe’s highest (44m) hill is this charming little green domain, overlooking nineteenth century cottage chimneys and the city in one direction and flanked by native bush through which there is a walking path on the other.
Before it was acquired by BCC in 1925 it formed part of the orchard to the first and surviving homestead in the area, Teneriffe House (circa 1865) which is perhaps why it has such a sense of exclusivity. Its amenities include a gas barbecue, children’s playground and a picnic shelter in a rotunda.
