Apollonian Hotel

Boreen Point

The historic Apollonian Hotel, a relic of the Gympie gold rush days, was relocated to the shores of Lake Cootharaba in 1987 and has been a social hub since the 1860s.

Built of hoop pine and cedar, surrounded by classic wide verandahs and fourteen foot ceilings, the old colonial hotel is a unique example of nineteenth century Queensland architecture. Named after Apollo, the Greek god of music and theatre, the hotel's music hall has hosted many live musicians over the years.

Today, the iconic hotel is situated on a spacious three and a half acre property, including restored railway worker's style accommodation from yesteryear.

The pub menu features a range of counter meals including salads, pies, burgers, steak, and lasagne. It is definitely worth a visit for lunch on Sundays for the wood-fire spit roast in the rustic bush kitchen.

There is plenty of outdoor seating beneath shady fig trees in the beer garden, and a large grassy lawn popular with children wishing to stretch their legs.

Nice to know - The Apollonian Hotel is located a thirty minute drive north of Noosa, in the village of Boreen Point.
