Sorelle Eatery
St Lucia
Sorelle Eatery is a fab foodie cafe in the heart of St Lucia offering a fresh twist on traditional Italian food for breakfast and lunch, along with excellent coffee, boutique wine and beautiful homewares.
The cafe and homewares shop is a sibling for Tognini's, the long-standing deli cafe in Milton. Sorelle (pronounced ‘so·rèl·le’) means sisters in Italian, and marks the next generation for the family business as sisters, Madeleine and Nastassia, join their parents Mark and Narelle Tognini in hospitality.
Sorelle Eatery features a huge, oak timber, communal table surrounded by smaller tables in the light filled dining space, with a stunning stone bench top, and arches adding a modern aesthetic to the cafe and shop. In addition, guests can dine al fresco with a small, covered patio provided at the entrance.
The All Day Breakfast menu ranges from Coconut Yoghurt Panna Cotta with house made granola, passionfruit syrup and seasonal berries and Polenta Cornbread with avocado, poached eggs and chipotle cream, to Sorelle's signature Sicilian Scrambled Eggs mixed with sobrasada and stracciatella, and the decadent Tiramisu Cruffin - a flaky pastry drizzled with rich espresso syrup, topped with delicate chocolate shavings.
Lunch served from 11am includes share plates of Burrata with heirloom tomatoes, black olive crumble and chargrilled bread, Beef Carpaccio, Calamari Fritti and a Salumi Board featuring mortadella, san danielle prosciutto, truffle salami, pickled vegetables and gnocchi fritti.
Otherwise, there are Main dishes such as Mortadella, Mozzarella and Japaleno Toastie, Sorelle Caesar with crispy prosciutto, soft boiled egg and house made dressing, Saffron Risotto with zucchini, pea and smoked ricotta, Crispy Skin Barramundi and Veal Cotoletta.
Make sure to save room for dessert, with mouth-watering temptations like Apple Rhubarb Crumble, Valrhona Chocolate Tart, and the must-try Ricotta, Chocolate Chip and Pistachio Crumble Cannoli.
Sorelle is child-friendly with a menu for Little People that includes breakfast and lunch dishes such as mashed avo on white bread, eggs on toast, ham and cheese omelette, cheese and vegemite toastie, beef burger with chips, and spag bol.
Located near the entrance inside the cafe, under the arches, you'll find a divine selection of leading Australian brand homewares, ceramics, soft furnishings, and children's gifts from the likes of Robert Gordon, Madras Link and Urban Rituelle - making Sorelle the ideal destination for brunching and browsing.
Nice to know - Sorelle is licensed offering a carefully curated wine list of Australian and imported wine varietals including
boutique Italian wines.
