Miraak Kitchen & Bar

Fortitude Valley

Updated: Aug 05, 2024

Miraak Kitchen and Bar has closed permanently.

Miraak is a funky Korean fusion restaurant and bar occupying a heritage-listed apothecary by the entrance to Bakery Lane, Fortitude Valley.

Inside, the bustling downstairs dining space has a slightly industrial vibe, with single gold light bulbs juxtaposed with pink neon light strips, exposed handmade brick walls and aircon ducts running across the lofty ceiling.

Mi means "taste" and Raak translates to "fun," and these two elements come together in the Asian fusion venue to create a unique Korean-style dining experience.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of dishes, from Korean BBQ to fusion sashimi (a house specialty), while also indulging in the extensive beverage menu that includes beer, sake, and cocktails.

With a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a playful approach to food, the restaurant offers a fusion dining experience that is both fun and memorable. From Korean BBQ (house signature), Chinese dumplings, Jalapeno with cheese arancini or sashimi, this Korean bar and eatery has it all.

Dine on everything from sashimi (highly recommended) and beef tataki to prawn apple salad; or boiled Korean beef ribs finished on the grill, to a citrus chicken dish, which was a star at Jeon’s Kitchen (the previous venue).combining fresh orange and onions with thinly battered fried chicken

The menu is designed to complement the diverse drinks list, which features an extensive selection of Asian-inspired cocktails and classics, a global wine list with a particular emphasis on Italian wines, local craft beer, brews from Korea and Japan, Japanese whiskeys, Korean soju, sake, and a clever array of mocktails.

For those who prefer beer, the menu includes a selection of local craft brews as well as imports from Korea and Japan. Fans of Japanese whiskey and Korean soju will also find plenty to choose from, while sake lovers can indulge in a variety of premium options.
