Anouk Cafe
Paddington
Updated: Sep 07, 2025
Anouk, one of Brisbane's longtime cafes, occupies the old Paddington apothecary in the Given Terrace eating precinct, where for years it has been serving up all-day brunch with a creative twist.
The chic inviting interior, sun-filled in the mornings, features exposed handmade brick walls and timber floors, while outside hanging ferns provide tropical green shade to the pavement tables.

More than a café, Anouk is like a local institution, serving scrumptious all-day breakfast/lunch, as well as takeaway coffee and specials to a loyal cast of regulars.

What makes Anouk stand out amongst the crowd is the fine attention to detail, from the creative beautifully-presented dishes and the perfectly-brewed coffee to the warm, attentive service.

On the breakfast menu (served until 11am) are sweet dishes like French toast (brioche with chantilly cream, caramelized banana, honeycomb and chai maple), zeppole (traditional lemon and ricotta donut with mixed berry compote & chantilly cream) and savoury dishes such as sauteed mushroom (mushroom, kale, spinach, lemon, garlic seasoning, poached egg & parmesan cheese) or pan omelette (with mozzarella, parmesan, bocconcini cheese, herbs, chilli oil, turkish bread).

Meanwhile the all day menu features a mix of breakfast and lunch-style dishes including carbonara udon (Asian-italian twist dish made from udon noodle, crispy bacon & seaweed); Shakshuka (baked eggs and aromatic tomato with herbed labneh, fried chickpeas and flatbread); and Pork Bao Benedict (bao bun, marinated pork, pickled cucumber, carrot and red onion).

Other dishes include 'the signature burger' (crispy fried chicken, milk bun, aioli, flat leaves, honey gochujang); pork taco (pulled pork, roti, mix salad, pickled cucumber & carrot); pad nouk (rice noodle, prawn, chive, tamarind sauce, bean sprout, lime & turnip); and Banh Mi with house-made pate (pork mince, pork liver and chicken liver), slow-cooked marinated pork, pickles, cucumber & fries.

Coffee served is well-brewed Merlo, hot chocolate with marshmallows, Chamellia Leaf Teas, yoghurt fruit smoothies, fruit shakes, muddled fruit and fizz, Australian cold press juice and home-made soft drinks. BYO beer, wine or spirit - with the latter Anouk will be happy to mix up a killer cocktail!
Need to know - There is a small amount of free off-street parking out the back of Anouk (entry off Guthrie St), otherwise there is plenty of on-street parking around the area.
