THIS EVENT IS NOW IN THE PAST. FOR MORE GREAT THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN AND AROUND BRISBANE, PLEASE HEAD TO OUR WHAT'S ON PAGE.Air is QAGOMA's stunning summer exhibition, featuring large-scale and immersive works by leading international and Australian artists across the entire ground floor of GOMA from November 26-April 23, 2023.
Exploring the cultural, ecological and political dimensions of air, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey through this invisible, ethereal and vital element, reflecting on awareness of our shared atmosphere as life-giving, potentially dangerous and rapidly warming.

Featured in the exhibition will be Collection favourites including Ron Mueck’s monumental human sculpture In bed, Anthony McCall’s solid-light installation Crossing and Jonathan Jones’ lyrical evocation of wind, breath and bird call, untitled (giran).

A highlight of Air is Tomás Saraceno’s floating work Drift: A cosmic web of thermodynamic rhythms, which anchors the exhibition with a sequence of 13 large suspended spheres, partly mirrored and partly transparent, with some remaining still and others in subtle vertical motion.
Good to know - The opening weekend will be packed with performances, talks, workshops (including some for kids) and discussions.
