Dolci Sapori
Clayfield
Dolci Sapori is a small chunk of Italy that lies concealed behind what looks from the main road to be a closed off shopping strip. But those who take the time and effort to find the entrance around the back off the car park will find a no-frills pasticceria café serving some of the best Italian sweet treats in town.
The owner is from Venice, the pastries are largely Sicilian and delicious and his idea is not just to sell them but to have people stop in for breakfast Italian style – an espresso and brioche or granita – or say, afternoon tea – a cannoli and coffee.
But it’s not just about the sweet – there’s also a smattering of savoury such as Italian staple arancini (savoury rice ball) and gelati to go.
Dolci Sapori also supplies pastries to cafes around town such as Alberto’s Shot and Briki Espresso & Gelati Bar.
