Casa Chow
Woolloongabba
Casa Chow is a stunning Chinese-Peruvian restaurant and bar perched on the corner of South City Square in Woolloongabba.*
From the savvy owners of neighbouring Sasso Italiano, Casa Chow is the first restaurant to bring a taste of chifa cuisine to Brisbane.
The dazzling pastel-hued restaurant offers outdoor deck seating, and a mix of bar stool and comfy leather booth seating inside, including a mezzanine level purple-pink nook with luxe private booths.
The unique menu, a fusion of Chinese and Peruvian known as chifa, derives from Chinese migration to Peru in the late 19th and early century when traditional Cantonese dishes were blended with local food, to create a cuisine which is now prevalent in Peru and that has spread to neighbouring countries.
On the menu, which is designed to share, you'll find Starters such as Pipies, lap cheong, garlic chives, ginger and chipotle; Chicken wings a la brasa sauce & chipoltle lime mayo or Empanada with potato, chorizo, manchego & rocoto dip.
A delicious selection of Dim Sum includes the likes of Adobo de Chancho bao buns with smoked tomato salsa; Chicharron de Pescado bao buns with Aji amarillo mayo or sweet potato and black bean spring roll.
There's also Ceviche (tuna, coconut, lime, aji rocoto and avocado or kingfish & leche de tigre) served on crispy wontons and delectable Skewers such as Qld king prawn with ancho & lemon mojo butter or wagyu karubi, crispy chilli oil & cilantro.
And from the Wok & Grill there are larger dishes like Chaufa Prawn and fried rice; Pork Lo Mein with fresh egg noodle & pickled chili or Fremantle octopus, coconut, fragrant vegetable, lime & rice noodle.
The drinks menu is as unique as the food, with signature fusion cocktails such as Kong Tiki; Plum Pisco Negroni; Chino Latino and Red Date and Ginger Blazer or a decadent Casa Scorpion Bowl for 2 (pisco, pempero blanco, baijiu, fresh lime, papaya, fassionola, lychees, fresh lime & el furgo).
