THE TASTE OF TRANSYLVANIA HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN WEST END IN 2023 BUT YOU CAN STILL FIND THEM AT THE CLEVELAND AND MT GRAVATT MARKETS.

The Taste of Transylvania is a tiny cottage in West End dishing up traditional Hungarian langos and authentic Romanian fare. 

Perched on the corner of Browning and Russell Streets, Taste of Transylvania is the first bricks-and-mortar location for the farmer's market stalwarts.

Taste of Transylvania is well-known for its traditional langos - deep-fried flat bread topped with tasty cheese, sour cream, sweet chilli sauce, and your choice of tasty of toppings such as bacon, lamb, chicken, mushrooms, avocado and tomatoes. 

The cafe also serves authentic Romanian fare including cabbage rolls filled with ground pork, bacon and rice, tocanita (stew) served with served with polenta and sour cream, perisoare (meatball soup), mittitei (grilled sausage), and stuffed capsicums.

For sweet tooths, there's poffertjes with toppings (maple syrup, chocolate, strawberry, caramel or honey) and delicious, sweet and sticky baklava.

Nice to know: You can still find Taste of Transylvania each weekend at the Cleveland Markets and Mt Gravatt Markets.
