Day Tripping in Marburg

Updated: Sep 27, 2025

The charming country township of Marburg, on the outskirts of Ipswich and less than an hour's drive from Brisbane, is a great place to spend a day (and a night).

With fantastic antique shops to fossick through, quaint cafe, historic pub, hobby farm and creative boutique  and coffee nook set in an old church, there's plenty of reasons to go day tripping here:

This quirky antique and collectables store is named after Scotland Yard's collection of crime artefacts and exhibits

Just off the Warrego Highway in the charming country township of Marburg, you’ll find one of the most interesting and browse-worthy antique shops in all of Queensland

Owned and operated by the same family for more than 80 years, no trip to Marburg is complete without a visit to this local institution, a grand old heritage-listed hotel that date from 1881

The popular hobby farm, just outside of Marburg, is closed for the month of February but will re-open to visitors at the start of March
